Pan Zhanle bagged two golds in a day at the China National Swimming Championships here on Friday.
The men's 400m freestyle final saw a close race, but Pan showed his explosive power in the last 50 meters to grab the gold in 3:45.58, followed by Zhang Zhanshuo and Fei Liwei.
The 19-year-old sensation also reigned the men's 4x100m freestyle relay, triumphing alongside Chen Juner, Wang Xizhe and Ji Xinjie in 3:15.02.
In the women's 400m freestyle final, Li Bingjie won the race in 4:04.03, Liu Yaxin got second, and Yang Peiqi took the third.
In the women's 4x100m freestyle relay, Cheng Yujie, Yang Junxuan, Wu Qingfeng, and birthday-girl Zhang Yufei dominated the race in 3:34.43.
The competition, which lasts for nine days, will be the last trial for China's Olympic squad and sets a similar format as the upcoming Olympics.
